Intelligence Test for Young Children

Who We Are

At Quikspel, we believe that every child deserves a confident start in education. Our mission is to make learning fun, inclusive, and accessible for children of all abilities. Our story begins with a shared passion for helping children. I met my wife, Pamela, at our local tennis club. Pamela, a gifted kindergarten teacher, was renowned for helping children who struggled with formal education. With her artistic skills and boundless creativity, she designed imaginative tools that transformed shy or uncertain children into confident learners.

She often said, “Every child is born with a talent. My job is to find it—and nurture it.” This belief became our shared mission, and it drives us every day.

My Background in Vision and Learning

As a practicing optometrist, I've always had a special interest in children with reading difficulties. In 1970, I joined the American OEP (Optometric Extension Program), where I learned a vital truth: sight and vision are not the same thing. This insight led me into visual training and studying conditions like dyslexia and dyscalculia. I realised that all learning begins with the early development of the five senses, even before birth.

Over time, I noticed that while many children thrived with sensory-based tools in nurseries and kindergartens, others were left behind—labelled as slow or “stupid,” despite having untapped potential. We knew something had to change. While there are many wonderful educational tools out there, they often lack direction for the future. The Quikspel Road Map helps parents discover their child's aptitudes and preferences, guiding them toward success in their chosen paths.

Why We Created Quikspel

We designed Quikspel to give every child a fair chance to succeed, regardless of age, background, or learning style. This isn't just a board game; it's an interactive, hands-on word game designed to build confidence while stimulating the 3 R's: Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic.

  • Designed for fair competition: Ideal for classroom and home use.
  • Fun 30-minute game: Fits seamlessly into school schedules.
  • Early identification: Helps teachers spot learning struggles early and engage parents.
  • Encourages parental involvement: Improves family communication and creates fun family time, away from screens.
  • Level playing field: Allows young children to compete confidently with older players.

This intelligence test for young children is essential for teachers, who can use the included scorecards to identify areas of difficulty—like multiplication or spelling—and inform parents early, allowing children to improve before problems escalate. We believe that confidence grows when children feel capable—and capable when learning feels like play.

Note: Quikspel is still in development and not yet available for sale. Stay tuned!

The Quikspel Road Map to a Child's Genius

Before children even say their first words, they are already learning through their five senses. This early development shapes their strengths, preferences, and potential. That's why we created the Quikspel Road Map—a guide to help parents recognise and support their child's natural gifts.

The Quikspel intelligence test for young children isn't about replacing teachers or parents; it's about empowering them. This isn't a curriculum—it's a compass. The Road Map helps you:

  • Observe your child's unique talents.
  • Choose activities that stimulate those abilities and interests, creating fun while developing the senses.
  • Guide them toward future opportunities aligned with their gifts.

There are countless outstanding tools, books, and games designed to support children's development. We encourage parents to select those that match their child's sensory strengths, using the Road Map as a personalised guide to success.

Roadmap For Parents

A Family Effort

Pamela and I are proud parents of five children:

  • Three are in the optometric profession.
  • One is a barrister.
  • One—brilliantly dyslexic—has been instrumental in developing Quikspel, offering fresh thinking and practical support.

Together, as a family, we've poured our experiences and insights into this project. Quikspel and the Road Map are not just tools—they're part of our legacy. Our hope is that they ignite potential in homes and classrooms around the world.

Our Hope for the Future

We don't expect to raise little Einsteins. But we do want every child to feel seen, supported, and excited about their future. With our intelligence test for young children, we aim to help them discover their talents, build confidence, and follow their dreams.

"While I can't promise to turn your child into a little Einstein, the Road Map offers a practical starting point for parents who want to do something—rather than nothing—for their child's development."

By using simple tools found online or in bookstores, you can begin to nurture the five senses that are most closely linked to your child's natural abilities. Every small step you take now could make a big difference in their future.

Is your child a genius? Purchase the Road Map for a minimal cost of £3.75 to find out. This is a one-off payment designed to cover our administration costs for your child's possible future success in life!
